William C. Short

Chief Executive Officer

William is a natural-born innovator, thought leader, and life-long learner. In 2013, he was honored with the CEO Leadership Award by the Institute for Healthcare Consumerism. In 2014 and 2016, William was elected chairman of the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation: a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advocacy and advancement of tax-advantaged benefit programs. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., he obtained his Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems/Information Technology from Quinnipiac University and graduated from the Harvard Business School OPM program. William published his first book, "127 Grains," in 2016 and currently sits on the board of directors for the North Texas chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Bart McCollum

President & Chief Operating Officer

As President and COO, Bart is responsible for overseeing all aspects of business operations, product development, strategic planning, employee relations, business integration, compliance, and technology at Ameriflex. He is an expert both from a legal and operational perspective in consumer-directed healthcare products. Bart began his career at UMB Financial Corporation in Kansas City, Mo., where he served as Assistant Vice President for the company’s Institutional Fixed Income Group. Bart graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance, Psychology and Philosophy. He also earned a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School and is admitted to practice law in Texas and Missouri.

Tod Hooker

Chief Financial Officer

Tod has over 13 years of banking and finance experience, ten of which have focused on the healthcare banking industry. Throughout his career, Tod has been very active in the development of healthcare banking products for several national organizations. Prior to joining Ameriflex, Tod was Vice President of Finance at First Horizon Msaver, where he assisted with the banking aspects of HSA product development. Tod also served as Vice President of Treasury Management Services at UMB Bank in Kansas City, Mo., where he managed the Treasury Management portfolio for clients ranging in size from brand name, Fortune 500 to mid-sized with at least $25 million in revenue. Tod is a graduate of Kansas State University.

Matt Palubicki

Chief Technology Officer

Matt entered the consumer-driven healthcare industry in 2004 and, shortly thereafter, implemented the first online HSA application using a digital signature. In 2006, he designed the first HSA-specific employer funding system. Prior to joining Ameriflex, Matt was the IT Director for First Horizon Msaver in Overland Park, Kan. In this role, he gained direct experience with the sale of individual high-deductible health plans, developed an HSA enrollment and broker commission management system, and designed a broker dashboard that enabled Msaver brokers to track enrollments and direct commission checks. He also managed numerous custom integrations with large employers, brokerages, and insurance companies. Before joining First Horizon Msaver, Matt was a Systems Engineer at AT&T Labs.

Anne Richter

Chief Strategy Officer

Anne began her career with UMB Bank in Kansas City, Mo., where she was responsible for corporate communications strategy, internal communications, and marketing for the Asset Management and Healthcare Services divisions. Anne later worked for First Horizon Msaver in Overland Park, Kan., and was promoted to Vice President of Marketing. In her current role as Chief Strategy Officer, Anne is responsible for executing strategic initiatives, managing strategic partnerships, and ensuring that decisions made regarding potential opportunities are aligned with overall corporate strategy. Anne graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in American Politics and a minor in Legal Studies.

David Rose

Chief Revenue Officer

David Rose came to Ameriflex in the fall of 2017 to re-energize the sales and marketing organizations at Ameriflex and help take the client emotional experience to new heights.  David is the founder and CEO of C-Level Marketing and Sales Consulting and has been a serial entrepreneur. David has twenty plus years of executive experience working to grow revenue and profits with Fortune 500 and mid-cap clients in addition to select SMBs. David is focused on solving the dynamic people, process and technology issues that prevent companies from growing and surviving. As the Chief Revenue Officer for Ameriflex, he spends his time helping guide the high flying trajectory of the company's future. David is a graduate from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Strategic Management and Business Law.

Donna Wilkinson

Senior Counsel

Donna's specialty is perspective.  With courtroom experience in both state and federal court, Donna built her reputation on offering clients legal strategies which not only benefit them now but help secure a future of growth.  Prior to joining Ameriflex, she was a Supervising Attorney at Barrett Daffin Frappier Turner & Engel, LLP (BDF). While at BDF, she focused her litigation practice on complex mortgage transactions while representing both private and publicly held banks, mortgage companies, investors and brokers. Donna also served as Counsel at The Marketing Arm, an Omnicom Company, where she focused on compliance, data privacy and risk management.  Donna earned her law degree from North Carolina Central University and completed her undergraduate studies at Elon University with a major in Political Science and Public Administration.

Board of Advisors

The Ameriflex Board of Advisors includes professionals from some of the biggest names in the Healthcare, Insurance and Human Resources industries. It is the goal of the board to aggregate ideas from the various stakeholders in an effort to accomplish the following three objectives: build stronger relationships among key industry professionals, strengthen revenue growth models and ideas, and foster innovation.

Andrew Surber

Prime Capital Investment Advisors

Andrew is a Financial Advisor who specializes in retirement plans in the Midwest. Over the last 7 years his focus has been on creating better outcomes for participants through face to face education meetings. Currently he is working on initiatives that combine both health and wealth savings accounts to help participants formalize a holistic retirement action plan.

David Charland

Pierce Group Benefits

As Chief Operations Officer of Pierce Group Benefits, David communicates effectively to maintain excellent business relationships with prospective and existing clients by remaining attuned to their needs. By doing so, he has specialized in the the creation of custom benefits solutions for public and private sector groups, more specifically in the creation and implementation of FSAs, HSAs, and tax shelters. David also designs unique benefit packages that include COBRA and retiree solutions that have proven to benefit employer groups. With over 15 years in this industry, David has gained a broad experience in all aspects of employee benefit packages.

Greg Autuori

Namely

Greg Autuori works as Director, Benefit Operations at Namely. He and the Namely team help employers across the country offer engaging benefits programs through the Namely HCM & Benefits Administration platform. Prior to his time at Namely, Greg worked as a benefits consultant at both Mercer and Willis Towers Watson in the NY ­Metro Area.

Rick Lacher

Houlihan Lokey

Mr. Lacher is Co-Head of Houlihan Lokey’s corporate finance efforts in the Southwest region of the U.S. He also serves as a senior member of the firm’s M&A Group, Co-Head of the firm’s M&A Committee, and Co-Chair of Board and Special Committee Advisory Practice. Mr. Lacher has more than three decades of experience advising public and private clients on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, leveraged buyouts, and capital-raising activities as well as in connection with assessing strategic alternatives.

David Ross

Hays Companies

David Ross is an Executive Vice President and the Director of Actuarial & Underwriting Services at Hays Companies. David acts as a National resource and the primary source of both internal and external education and support regarding efficient health plan structure. David spends most of his time traveling the country educating consultants, employers, and legislative bodies on the many counter-intuitive and nuanced components of effective health care cost management.

Steve Hesler

Colonial Life

Steve Hesler is Assistant Vice President of Product and Market Development at Colonial Life, a leading voluntary benefits company. As a thought leader, Hesler focuses on industry developments, market changes, consumer experience, health care reform and product strategy. He recently led the company’s oversight and development of both individual and group accident and supplemental health product lines. Hesler joined Colonial Life in August of 2012 as Assistant Vice President of the Portfolio Management Office responsible for the implementation of all strategic projects for the firm. Prior to joining the company, he spent 16 years working with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and its family of companies. Here he held leadership positions in finance, operations, data analysis, sales operations and others where he received the company’s top award for Leadership and Collaboration.

Wil Trohanis

Aon | Health & Benefits Broking

Wil is a Carrier Engagement Manager within Aon's Health & Benefits practice, the team executing Aon’s partnership and broking strategy with top healthcare and group benefits providers. Prior to Aon, Wil held international and domestic distribution leadership roles with MetLife and Unum. Wil and his family are based in New York City.

Frank Doherty

National Benefit Partners, LLC

Frank Doherty is a Co-Founder, Managing Partner and CEO of National Benefit Partners, an independent distribution company in the voluntary benefit marketplace. Frank is also Co-owner and principal of Vision Financial Corporation in Keene, NH. Vision Financial is a licensed bonded third-party administrator specializing in “business process outsourcing” for the voluntary benefit insurance industry for the past 27 years.
